Great for math fluency

Comments about Educational Insights Math Whiz™:
Great game for my second grader to practice her math facts. In second grade it is really important for students to develop fluency in math - meaning they can quickly "see" the answer without having to count each time. This game has a variety of levels, so my child could start off easy and feel successful (she usually gives up and is disinterested is something is too difficult right away). I like that the toy is quiet and can be taken in the car for math practice on the go. The game is very simple without graphics. That would be my only suggestion - to add an option where the game includes pictures for younger children and then transitions into written numbers.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I received this item from Educational Insights in exchange for my honest review. What a fun and educational game! My child has really enjoyed playing this and I have noticed an improvement in the speed (and accuracy) of answering math facts. The bright colors of this item are really eye-catching. The sound and smiley faces are attention grabbers. I like that there are options for math drills, challenges and even a calculator. I would highly recommend this item.

This is a great way to get kids to review their math facts without being boring. My sons enjoy using it and the instant feedback is nice for them. It works well and is easy for kids to use on their own. The only con I found is that it is pricey.I received this product in exchange for my honest review.

About Me Parent Of Two Or More Children
The concept of the game is good if you have child who does not like flash cards. My younger child likes to learn using electronics rather than the old fashioned flash card type things. It's nice that it is also a calculator. However, it is a bit pricey, which I think is a down side. I'm not sure that price point is a good one, even considering it does do more than one thing. I have an 8 year old and a 5 year old, I think this is great for my younger kiddo who is just starting out with math. My older one it is to repetitive (even though that's the point) but it really helps my younger one get the idea.

My six-year-old plays with this in the car. Right now she does addition and subtraction on levels 2-3; she's proud when she advances to the next level, and has room to grow to get to level 8. Soon she will start doing multiplication and division also. I also play with it (level 8 addition is hard for me!) for a mental workout. I'm buying a second one so that my six-year-old niece (who has enjoyed my daughter's game) can have one of her own. Besides practicing their math facts, they can race themselves. When you finish a level of addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, the game tells you how long it took you to do that set. It's also a nice size for fitting into smaller hands, and the sounds and graphics (happy if you're right, sad if you're not) are cute.
