This dino forklift was a hit with my almost four year old son. It combines two things he loves the most - dinosaurs and construction vehicles. His eyes lit up when he saw the box. It's definitely got the wow factor, so makes a gret gift. His first response was, "Oh man, that's so cool!"

Things he liked:
- Multiple actions. Tail and head can "crush" dirt, rocks, etc. Plenty of open-ended play.
- Dinosaur fits well into his seat and the top opens up so kids can easily fit the figure inside. This has been a headache with other vehicles we have.
- Forklift part is topped off so that pieces won't slide off and get lost.
- Tires make cool dino tracks.
- No annoying lights or sounds.

Things that were mildly frustrating:
- Bottom jaw of mouth sticks a little when moving up and down, though this might be by design to prevent frustration when chomping with the top part.

He is already asking for the dump truck dinosaur on the box for his birthday, so this one was a winner in our house.

My almost 4 year-old son received this and had fun playing with it in the house. He had frequent problems with the front jaws coming loose. I was able to snap them back into place, but this was something that I had to do frequently for him, and he started to become frustrated that he couldn't fix it himself. When he took the toy out to the sandbox (which the box says it's made for the dirt, sand, or snow) the sand seemed to clog up the jaws even more making it difficult to move the jaws up and down. Additionally, he really wanted the tail to be able to dig in the sand, which I understand is not really the function of a forklift, but the tail is kind of too short to really function as much of anything other than a decoration. So it's a fun toy, but with some improvement it could have been even more fun.

Comments about Educational Insights Dino Construction Company™ Snap Velociraptor Forklift:

My son loved the dino collection. Snap is not only fun to play with but it is a dino with snapping jaws and smashing Tail. How can you beet that with a little boy. He loved that is also came with a little man to ride him. This collection is very strong, it can really stand up to a wild 5 year old. Anything that mixes Dino's and construction is a winner in my sons eyes.

Comments about Educational Insights Dino Construction Company™ Snap Velociraptor Forklift:

I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.

The ability for lots of open ended play in this toy is great - lifting, chomping action, etc. My boys fought over this one (and the cement mixer dino truck). They say this is their favorite one.

Hubby and I however, felt the jaws were a little difficult to maneuver as they tend to stick a little or "catch" instead of go up and down smoothly. It did not affect the amazing play my boys had when we took this and their other Dino Truck toys with us camping. They used them in rocks, dirt, sand, and later in the sandbox at home.

My one complaint is the little dino driver inside - so easy to lose. We've actually lost ALL the dino drivers of our 3 trucks by now. I'm not going to give the toy lower stars b/c it works fine without it.

Our 4 year old son enjoys playing with the velociraptor forklift. He has had fun playing with it and making up stories for it. When asked, he said he wishes that there was sound. The jaws are fun, but they are hard to move up and down manually. Lots of potential for fun!

This is a great toy for imaginative play. My four year old son is a dinosaur fanatic. He LOVES this toy. He incorporates his other dinosaurs into play with this one. He loves that the mouth opens and closes and that the tail moves. Their only suggestion is that the tail should be able to turn over, to use as a scoop.

My two sons (ages 4 and 7) love this toy! They have played with it in the dirt pile, the sand box and the bath tub. There are no visible metal parts so it's perfect for water play. Very durable and well made and they like it so much that they want the other ones in this product line!

My 4 year old was thrilled to see this "Dino Chomper." His first words were, "It has teeth to pick up stuff!" The bottom of the mouth is not very easy to move, but he is still able to play with it and enjoy picking up cars and other items. I appreciate that it doesn't need batteries or make noises. A fun time is had with this toy.

My 5 year old son was so excited when he saw this toy! It was colorful and seemed sturdy. The only piece that could have been attached more securely is the bottom part of the forklift (lower jaw). It fell off after a day of play, but we were able to snap it back. It is a great toy for imaginative play. It doesn't make any sounds or have any lights, but it kept my son's attention. Great toy for the younger (toddler to 5 year old) set. Works great in the sand box too!
