These are extra pieces to go with the Dino Construction Company trucks. We received this, along with the cement mixer, to review. My three year old son is heavy into imaginative play, however, these items didn't do much to enhance the main toy (truck). Perhaps it is because the cement mixer cannot do much with these items on their own- it was difficult for the poles to be carried in the truck's "mouth" and they don't really fit in the tail area.

Reading another review, one child used the truck to collect, spin, and deposit sand and small rocks. I think coupled with that idea, the items here may have a bit more use. A child can stick the poles in the ground/sand, use extra sand to fill in around it or pour "concrete" in the area. The other items included- the barricades, cones and rocks, are cute but not very functional. I would have liked to have more functional pieces that interact or even interlock, like Lincoln Logs, to build up the poles into something that the child can really build. My three year old seemed frustrated that there wasn't more to do with the pieces. He said, "Where is the top? We need to build more." Even with other items he picked from his room (tissues, an empty box, other blocks) he said, "That's not right" and wanted more.

My son enjoyed moving the poles around in the truck's mouth, but seemed frustrated that they wouldn't stay up or do much else. This was on carpet. We since moved this set, along with the cement truck to his bin of dried beans- so much fun! Great for him to "dig" for the poles in the beans and move the beans in the cement mixer. He also likes to hide and reposition the rocks in here- makes for a better play setting without taking everything outside in the dirt or sand!

My four year old loves this but becomes easily frustrated with the "rolling bars." I wish the pieces had deeper notches to connect them together or so they would stay put easier. Fun toy and he adds it to his collection of Angry Bird building sets and has lots of fun making the dinosaur the boss!

Comments about Educational Insights Dino Construction Company™ Build and Smash Set:

My son loved this extra set to go with his dino construction set. It was perfect with helix and snap. They could haul and break the stuff. It made a perfect construction zone for my little guy to work in. He loved that the boulders broke open to find dino's. If you little one loves this collection they are going to love this extra pack to go with them.

I got this in exchange for an honest review

The Build and Smash Set accompanies the Dino Construction Company vehicles (which are so much fun). My children and their friends loved playing with the figurines and placing them in the sand and playing out different scenes (imaginary play). They created letters with the beams and acted out different construction scenes. I wish that there was more pieces in this set.

Comments about Educational Insights Dino Construction Company™ Build and Smash Set:

The Dino Construction Company Build & Smash Set comes with 20-pieces that can be used to create all sorts of fun structures and scenes that can be destroyed or re-built over and over again. This set is made up of a Dino-man action figure, a few fossil lined rocks, construction barriers, barrel barriers, and both short and long pipes. My son adores building so this set highly appeals to him. The pipes are can be used to build structures up high or down low. On each pipe there is a grove in which another pipe can sit upon. I like that the pieces don't have to be forced to stay together. Everything was built for a child to be able to manipulate all on their own.

My son has paired this set with his Dino Construction Company™ vehicle. He's been making his dino vehicle carry the pipes in it's mouth to the desired building spot. I love watching him play with this set. His imagination runs wild and his story telling skills informing we of what's going on are very precise. He's had his little dino action figure go on digs and discover the fossils inside the rocks. This set like the others in the Dino Construction line is completely battery-free and 100% kid powered. I think it's great alone but even better paired with the other sets.

This toy is great especially is you have the trucks, we have Rocko, and my son loves to build things for him to smash. There are a lot of pieces, but we love trying to haul the fossil rocks and cones around in the back. A great toy for the house or sandbox. I do wish there was a bag to keep it all in, but overall my sons loves it.

He couldn't have been happier. He thanked me multiple times for getting this toy to play with. I would absolutely buy more toys from this line.
