Comments about Educational Insights Design & Drill® Screwdriver:

The screwdriver is incredibly difficult to use. Purchased the screwdriver set and immediately thought it was defective. Took the toy back to Toys R Us and received a replacement. I soon realized that the screwdriver is very difficult even for an adult to use. You have to both depress the button very firmly and at a precise angle. My 3 year old daughter was never able to use the product the way it was intended. Contacted Educational Insights about this problem but since it had passed a time window and I no longer had the receipt, they were unable to replace the product.

Comments about Educational Insights Design & Drill® Screwdriver:

I Am a mother of triplets +1. I needed to buy the screwdriver as a third tool so The triplets would each have a tool with the design and drill toy I bought along with it. I read all the reviews about this product as well as the main toy that this goes with. The reviews were not that great but I loved the concept of it and decided to try it anyway. The design and drill case toy has a lot of issues itself that I won't comment on now. But the screwdriver is also flawed. The button is very hard to push for my triplets to work so they all fight over the drill instead. I'm unable to get the button to push myself sometimes. When they are able to get it going on their own it sputters and acts like it's ready to stop working.

This is a good concept that needs a lot more thought. I think it would make it a lot better with less fighting if I had three drills instead of one drill and two screwdrivers.

Comments about Educational Insights Design & Drill® Screwdriver:

This particular drill was just delivered, though ordered on 12/24/13 so it's not been used enough to really judge it. BUT the reason it was ordered was that the one (same drill that came with a kit) that my grandchild opened on CHRISTMAS EVE broke the very first time she used it!!!! One push of the button and poof, a puff of smoke and the smell of something burning. I did not attempt to deal with returning the entire kit because of the fact that it was her Christmas present. I just jumped online and ordered a new drill (it was reasonably priced) so she could hopefully enjoy my present over her Christmas holiday. The website did state that the item was on back order so I knew she was not going to get it for a while. I realize that this issue is only in the control of the manufacturer, not the retailer, but I was disappointed with what happened. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to 'vent' about this!!
