As an EI Insider, my girls occasionally receive toys from Educational Insights for review, and this was one of them...

Having already experienced some of the Design & Drill Toys in the past, the Dazzling Creations Studio was immediately welcomed with excitement upon arrival.

What's different about this one is that there's no batteries required, and the included "Ratchet" is completely kid-powered - and that's pretty awesome.

There are no instructions for the Dazzling Creations Studio, as it's a very simple set for free-form play, with kids able to use their little hands to "make" and "build" with colorful bolts and finishing "jewels."

My girls already love working with kid-sized tools that emulate Mommy and Daddy, and this accentuates that - but with a sparkly twist. The bolts are translucent, colorful, and with patterns that include a Unicorn, Crown, Dress and Castle - there's a familiar world to build upon.

Recommended.

I like the idea of this item. I have a 3 yr old daughter and want her to understand the mechanics of things. This product is good for that. It also helps with her motor skills. The fact that the items the screws go into are appealing to her. With that being said she only played with it for a few minutes and then did something else. The screws feel average in quality and if I were to take a guess will break within several uses. The screwdriver ratchets and you can flip a switch to reverse it. This is a nice feature but anything that is plastic and ratchets will break easily. Also the screws are too tight on the thread and it becomes a little too hard for my 3 year old to screw down.

Overall I have to rate this 2.5 stars. The quality of the item and the fact that my daughter lost interest in it with me playing together with her brings the rating down. The fact that this is a girl toy focused on trying to teach the mechanics of screws and using a screwdriver is a plus in my book. Item should be called "design & screw." There is no drilling done whatsoever in this product.

My 3 1/2 year old daughter is into anything princess related right now so this was right up her alley. It comes with 4 activity boards (unicorn, castle, dress, & crown), sparkly jewel toned bolts for the boards, clicking screwdriver, & blue sparkly gem caps. She first picked out her favorite shaped board (the castle) and then picked out which colored bolts she wanted to screw in. I didn't really have to demonstrate how to screw the bolts, I just verbally told her what to do and she got it right away. She had a lot of fun designing her board and talking about her favorite colors. Easy clean up and she can design over and over again.

My daughter enjoys playing with this and especially loves the "ratchet" noise when she twists the ratchet. It definitely is good for developing fine motor skills. This is a good toy for a single child as "sharing the ratchet might be difficult in younger kids. This is best for kids 3-5.

My daughter absolutely LOVES this set. I love that she can be creative and use her imagination for her creations. I also love that she is working on her fine motor, matching and counting skills! In the world of construction, there are so many toys geared towards boys, so it's great to see a construction toy for girls! We highly recommend this product and we will be buying some for Christmas and birthday gifts for our friends' daughters!

My daughter liked the product because she likes to make things, very crafty. She usually would use her brothers plastic tools and work bench to make stuff but now she has her own objects to drill. I do wish it had more items she could drill and screw together. All in all it is a good toy from a young child that likes to build.

Both my granddaughters, ages 3+ and just 7, enjoyed this. The younger loved the ratchet star tool and putting in the pieces. The older one made unique designs with the colors on each fun piece. They loved the shapes of the pieces and the favorite shape to work on was the castle and unicorn. Such fun while learning!

My daughter was so excited to receive this product. She called it a craft right away. I liked that it was easy to set up and there was no mess for our "craft time." She is almost 4 and had a little trouble using the screwdriver. She got better at it and I expect will improve. She liked decorating the shapes but once all the screws were in she was done. She didn't want to redo any of them. I think this would be a great toy to bring to a restaurant or doctor's office to pass the time while we wait. It's a unique toy and unlike any I've seen which I like. I received this as a gift for my honest review.
