This is a really fun game and a great way for kids to learn strategy. Simply set up each colored shark in the starting position. Every move, you'll need to connect another game piece to your color, but it can't be in the direction of where another shark is pointing. Once you can't make another move, you're out of the game. This game is fast-paced and quick and easy to set up. It's perfect for kids eight and up and you can play with up to four players.

Crowded Waters is a strategy game for kids. It is for older kids ages 8 and up. You need to play with a minimum of 2 players and a max of 4 players.
The one that wins is the last shark swimming who has room to swim.
The instructions come with lots of detail to help you learn the game. It is a great strategy game and has the kids thinking.
Please note that this game was provided in exchange for my honest opinion.

I recently received Crowded Waters from Educational Insights. Thank you for the opportunity to use this game in my therapy sessions!

Educational Insights has so many great games for therapy so if you are a therapist, I encourage you to head over to their website and check it out.

This game is not as easy as some of my other favorites from them. This would requires a higher level of reasoning and strategy so it's not a beginner game that allows you to take turns and easily modify the game. Nonetheless, it isn't too difficult for learners and allows for introductory lessons in strategic play. It is created for ages 8 and up.

So far, I have found that the kids love it because, well, who doesn't like sharks? The game has a huge shark mouth on it and the game pieces for placement have sharks on them. The object of the game is to be the last shark swimming. Up to 4 players (at least 2) take turns placing sharks on the board and may be pointed in a specific direction until no legal moves can be made. A player begins with all sharks in a specific position and then connects their next shark to the last, pointing it to an empty space. A player cannot point to a space to which another shark is already pointing. The final player with "room to swim" wins. The instructions have plenty of visual examples of correct/incorrect moves since the instructions initially sound confusing to young players.

Visually, this game is great! The game board fits into the top portion of the box when you leaving the packing cardboard in to allow it to be elevated. The only pieces are the game board and shark pieces (4 colors of sharks and 4 skeletons of corresponding shark pieces). Also, the game pieces fit into the game board (inset) so they don't easily get moved. There are instructions in English, Spanish, French, and German.

This game is fun, interactive & engaging! It's great for therapy and for family game night.

Several skills can be addressed through this game:

This is such a fun game! both kids enjoyed playing and having fun trying to block the other players. Played 2 and 4 players, and the outcome is always different. The concept of the game is simple, but you need to figure out, or guess how to the other players will play, so you can attempt to save your sharks. It can be a little competitive, which I like, so the kids are always trying to out smart each other. Great Game!

Crowded Waters was a great strategy board game of survival, ideal for older kids The game board, that mimics the ocean, was high quality and sturdy with indented spaces to insert game pieces. Players select a shark color and strategize their path to stay swimming in the game. Crowded Waters was easy to understand, and we were able to play right away with a group of young teens. I loved that this game made you think and stay on your toes but was a quick play that didn't take a great length of time. This is definitely a keeper in our house. One we will play again and again!

I played it for the first time with my husband and two daughters ages 6 & 12. The first round was a little slow, but once we got the hang of it, it was pretty fast paced. We played three rounds and they all won one round. I was sure I had them multiple times, but they always got me instead. It was a lot of fun and I look forward to playing it with them again soon.

My boys loved this game from beginning to end.. It kept them engaged the entire time and there was no wandering off, which is typical during games, and everyone enjoyed it. This is my new go to when they are asking for their video games and I'm tired of saying no. Clean up is also easier than I'd originally thought which is a bonus. I would certainly recommend to others, and have already.

My 11 year old loves it, my 6 year old likes it... and my wife and I both enjoy playing with the kids.
It is a fun strategy game that doesn't take too long but keeps you on your toes as you try to surround your opponents.
The board is very well made and the pieces are designed well.
We altered the rules a bit for a two-person game so that we use two colors each but just start at two locations.

What a fun game this is! Husband and I played it with our 8yr old daughter, it was great to see them strategize and really think through.

This will be a top pick for my daughter when she has friends over.

The quality of the game is excellent. Sturdy board with and nicely pieces.
