Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

Purchase by my kids grandmother and they enjoy using the cards and the pen. They can sit at grandma's house and go through the cards on their own or with grandma. The pen works without a problem.

Educational Insights Response: Go Grandma! And thanks, Mom, for posting.

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

I'm a home school parent and purchased the "Make Your Own" set refill dots. The pen seems to work well, but all of the hot dots are registering as incorrect. The pen is useless if the dots don't work. I feel like the purchase of the pen was a waste of money if the dots don't work. I see that someone else that wrote a review had the same issue. Was this resolved for the customer? I love the idea of the product and was so excited to have something to use with my existing flashcards to make them interactive. Very disappointed.

Educational Insights Response: Lorilei, we've just emailed you for details - don't worry, we'll get you running in no time!

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

I love the idea of this pen. I am a parent and a teacher.
I got the hot dots for my daughter to try first, she loved it until the pen broke after the second day. I then told my principal to hold off on getting it for the school because of the pen not working and reviews.
Hope that you guys get a better quality pen soon.
would love to see this in my school.

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

My child was never able to use this great present because the pen never worked. The store would not replace the pen because we did not have a gift receipt. Therefore, the toy has been completely useless other than for flashcard use. I will not buy another pen for fear of it not working again. Does the company stand behind their products. It looks like the pen has been an ongoing issue. I would love to hear from the company.

Educational Insights Response: Jazz, please look for an email from our Customer Care team - we will happily replace the pen with a working one - sounds like yours is defective!

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

The item didn't work from the first time my son used it. If he marked the dot beside an incorrect answer, it would still tell him it was correct. Definitely not worth purchasing!!

Educational Insights Response: Mais, non, French - say it isn't so! Please let us replace the pen for you. Just email aopheim@educationalinsights.com and we'll get you one that works perfectly.

Not good
By Karebear from Thousand Oaks, CA on 10/28/2010

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

Every dot we put the pen on it registers an incorrect reading. (Even at the recommended 90 degree angle.) Customer support was less than helpful. Not thrilled with Educational Insights.

My son is in second grade and is visually impaired. This has given him some freedom to work on various subjects without having to strain his eyes as much. He can also work with these independently which is very important to him. The interactive feedback has been great.

Educational Insights Response: We're so glad Hot Dots are working well for D!

We purchased a set of educational material for our 2 year old that came with this pen. It worked for a very short time and now alerts/buzzes that all answers are 'incorrect,' even the correct answers.

Educational Insights Response: Dear FM,
I'm assuming you've tried swapping the batteries for new. If that doesn't work, please email amy@educationalinsights.com so we can replace your pen!

By sureña from waxhaw, nc on 7/6/2010
Pros:
Easy To Assemble
Best Uses:
Home
Describe Yourself:
Parent
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Talking Hot Dots® Pen:

The pen needs to be pointed at 90 degree angle to the page for an acurate reading. This can be a little frustrating at first but once the student gets a hang of the pen it works fine. So far we have enjoyed the hot dots and hope to purchase more.

Educational Insights Response: We hope you purchase more, too! Thanks for the review!
