Comments about Playfoam® 6-Pack:
This stuff sounds so cool, but it's mostly a sticky mess. The box shows all these cool things made with the foam, but the product itself is way too crumbly to hold a shape. If you want to use it again, it's almost impossible to separate the colors. Plus, the little balls of foam would often rather stick to my kid's shirt than to each other. Very fun to squish, though, if you're not interested in making butterflies or flowers or whatever — and don't care that the the colors will stay mixed up once they touch.

Comments about Playfoam® 6-Pack:
We received the play foam as a gift.
The first couple of times my boys played with it, the 10 year old neighbor boy was over so he played with it too. He thought it was really cool and liked that it felt sticky but didn't make his hands sticky. He also made the most 'realistic' art with it. He crafted faces with lots of detail - even freckles.
My 6 year old likes that it comes in lots of colors. He once told me doesn't like the glittery ones because of the mess it makes. He likes the glitter, just not that it sticks to him and is difficult to remove. Today he specifically picked a non-glittery pack to play with. I must say I agree with him, the glitter gets everywhere.
When I asked my 3 year old what he likes best about the foam, he says, "I like making stuff." Mostly, he likes mixing the colors and pounding it flat on the table. His attention span for the foam is shorter than other mediums that have tools to work with but it keeps him entertained long enough to make it worth getting out.
I personally think it would be great in the classroom - especially in therapy or special needs classrooms where they use clay and other mediums to express themselves. My youngest wanted to play with moon sand or play doh or play foam after lunch. I chose play foam as it is the easiest to clean up after. That is a huge plus in my book.
