I bought this Eggspert 4 years ago with the intention of using it for review sessions in my class. I am a science high school teacher and my students liked it! They enjoyed the review time more! The reason why I gave 4 star was because my purple buzzer stopped working after several uses and I bought the 6-pods replacement and happened the same thing. This year, I decided to contact the customer service and tell them the condition of my purple buzzer. They sent me a replacement right away even I bought it several years ago! Thank you! Nice customer service.

I use the wireless eggspert and it has been VERY FRUSTRATING, it doesn't seem to get the signal from the eggs or the remote. Students had to press the eggs many times before it lights up, if even does it at all. Does things when you have not touch the eggs or the remote. It is very expensive product that doesn't do his job at all.I want to smash it against the wall sometimes.

Comments about Wireless Eggspert® 2.4gHz:
I bought a Wireless Eggspert a few years ago and one button stopped working pretty quickly. Customer service was great and replaced the whole set because by the time I contacted them (which was outside of the warranty), another button had stopped working. However, the Tone function does not work on either set. No matter what, when the time runs out, it says "Time's up" and does not play a tone even if I slide the button to Tone. It's annoying. The eggs also have a lag time in responding, and the signal doesn't reach across my small classroom, so students have to crowd in close. For this money, it's not a bargain by any stretch.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Oh no, this is not Eggslent. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can get you Eggcited for Eggspert again!

Excellent while it lasts

I use Eggsbert for review before a test. Students love it. The colored lights allow me to easily see who clicked in first to answer a question. Unfortunately the clickers wear out - rather quickly. For the price, each clicker should last at least 2 years - I am lucky if I get 1/2 to 3/4 of a academic year out of all clickers. I even bought a replacement set of clickers that did not last a full academic year. Wired Eggspert lasted 2 years before clickers started wearing out.
Eggspert broken after a couple months

This was purchased for my classroom via donorschoose. The system was great while it lasted. It stopped responding after only 2 short months. For $100 this SHOULD NOT HAPPEN! I am hoping Educational Insights will send us a replacement.
Merchant response: We will gladly send out a replacement. Could you please email us at CS@educationalinsights.com or call 800-995-4436? . Thank you.

Great idea, execution not so good

I conduct enrollment and education meetings for retirement plan participants. I look for innovative ways to get information out to these people, and wanted to try a quiz show format. Because my meetings may have upwards of 60 people at a time, I needed a way to keep it from becoming chaotic. My daughter suggested the Eggspert, which she had used in school. It was the ideal solution, but it doesn't work very well. I found that some buttons were indeed slower than others and some you needed to push multiple times to make them transmit a signal. My biggest issue though was that two of the buttons stopped working the very first time I used this! This product is expensive and this is just unacceptable. I've called twice now to get the buttons replaced. Both time I had to leave a message. I hope this second time someone returns my call.

The product gets the students motivated and excited to learn, but the buzzers are unreliable. The buttons have to be pressed many times to respond which the students find annoying. I have purchased three sets and all three pink buttons are broken, which means that the students can't buzz in. Very disappointing for the price.

The first time I used this, I loved it - finally a way to know who buzzed in first when I play Jeopardy with my class! However, I no longer love the Eggspert. There is a significant lag time between when students buzz in and when their color lights up. Some colors work better than others. After only 4 or 5 games with the kids, the blue egg stopped working entirely. I've tried new batteries in it, and have turned the whole system on and off - it doesn't work at all. So I'm down to 5 eggs, and even those aren't always reliable. The students sometimes have to push several times for the egg to register, meaning that other teams can get in front of them.

The first time I used this, 2 of the 6 buzzers did not work. After four sessions of using the wireless Eggspert, I question the validity of the response lights. It has not been consistent. Two of the colors light up more quickly that the other two working colors. Not sure if I trust the outcome. I feel the "wired" version is more accurate.
Merchant response: Mrs. Miller it sounds like your Wireless Eggspert may be a bit scrambled! Please look for an email from us with an offer to help...

Not all the wireless eggs worked as students had to press the buttons over and over again to get the unit to respond. Other teacher's wired eggspert was better. Unit has sat in my closet this year
Merchant response: No, no! It sounds like your unit is fried. Please take it out of the closet and let us fix or replace it for you! Look for an email from us to get your unit unscrambled - your students will thank you for it.
