Comments about Hot Dots® Lets Master Grade-3 Math:

My daughter is in second grade but is reading on a higher lever. I wanted something to challenge her so I got her the Hot Dots Grade 3 reading set. It has been really great for her. She loves all of the challenges and even the advanced challenges and it is putting her a step above the other students in her class. I wish there was a way to hook up headphones, but otherwise we love everything about it. Great resource for good readers and those who need to improve. They work on Reading Comprehension, Synonyms & Antonyms, Homophones & Multiple-meaning Words, Context Clues, Spelling, and Punctuation & Grammar. So many different things that are brought to them in a fun way through the Hot Dots System.

Comments about Hot Dots® Lets Master Grade-3 Math:

Hot Dots Math Grade 3 was a gift for my 8 y.o. He seemed to enjoy using the stylus pen to work on the activities in the included booklets. Being the curious boy that he is, he had to spend some time purposefully getting answers wrong so he could see what would happen. This activity is very easy for kids to figure out and it is nice that they can play with it independently too. An added feature for me is that a mute option is possible on the pen. Sometimes we all need a bit of quiet. If you are wondering what topics are included, here's a quick run down: Place Value (both vocabulary and identifying which place a number is located), Math Vocabulary, Multiplication (story problems and math facts), Fractions, Elapsed Time, Weight, Temperature, Perimeter, Data & Statistics (using graphs/charts), Comparing Whole Numbers, Division Facts, Area, Rounding, Comparing Fractions (, =), Volume, and Algebra. At the back of the second book there is a Challenge section that acts a bit like a chapter review in a math book. It has a few pages of questions covering the different topics presented in the books.

If you are looking for something to use for homeschooling, please realize this is a supplemental type of activity. It doesn't teach the children like a math book would. Instead it allows children to practice some topics they have previously learned. I mentioned that math facts are included, but I would suggest having old fashioned flash cards on hand or using something like XtraMath's website for additional math fact practice.

Comments about Hot Dots® Lets Master Grade-3 Math:

My boys are reluctant to practice math skills, "just for fun", so I tried the Hot Dots, Let's Master Grade 3 math. They immediately pulled the pen out and started answering the questions in the book. They didn't mind getting the answers wrong, and kept trying. The content is similar to the common core math that they encounter at school, so I was very happy with this product. I will buy hot dots products in the future.

Comments about Hot Dots® Lets Master Grade-3 Math:

I want my children to do well in school. I want them to be accelerated learners. With the help of Hot Dots I can help my child master skills at home without them feel like I am tutoring them or forcing them to learn more. Hot Dots makes learning fun. They say that child digress during summer breaks. Hot Dots is going to be a great tool to help my children retain their learning and skills during the summer months. I want them to go back to school remembering what they learned the previous year.
The 3rd grade math teaches fractions, time, geometry, beginning algebra, and so much more. I love seeing the pleased look on my child's face when the pen give positive reinforcement. The pens are interchangeable from book to book, a great feature!

This has been a great resource for my third grader and a good way for her to practice her math skills. This is especially nice to have during school breaks, helps my daughter to still stay engaged with school working during that time. Overall we have had a very positive experience using Hot Dots and I highly recommend them!

Comments about Hot Dots® Lets Master Grade-3 Math:

I received Hot Dots Let's Master Grade 3 Math free for review. All opinions are my own.

Hot Dots Let's Master Grade 3 Math includes an interactive talking Hot Dots Pen and two Hot Dots workbooks. The workbooks include questions, and multiple choice answers with a black dot next to each possible response. Your child will use the Hot Dots pen to select an answer by vertically pressing down on one of the dots. If the answer is correct a positive reinforcement will be heard and the pen will light up green. If the answer is wrong, a try again message will sound and the pen will light up red. The Grade 3 Math books cover topics such as time, shapes, geometry, fractions, measurements, math facts, money, place value, and beginning algebra.

The 3rd Grade Math books are similar to the 2nd grade math books, containing a lot of word problems. The 3rd grade book also continues to review math term definitions. Something new in the 3rd grade books that aren't included in previous levels is multiplication and division problems for the kids to solve as well as some work in data and statistics, such as using graphs. I love the step up in difficulty Hot Dots has. The questions are written out clearly so the answers make sense and the skill level is perfect for a 3rd grader.

Overall this is a great supplemental kit for teaching 3rd grade age kids math. The pages are durable and made to last through repeated use. These books can be used as a teaching tool and as a review for previous concepts to reinforce those ideas as needed. I recommend this kit to anyone with a 3rd grade aged child. It's a great educational tool to teach math to them.

My granddaughter was excited to get into Hot Dot's
Let's Master 3rd Grade Math. I had it for a few days and she was getting impatient. When we opened it she skimmed through to see what kinds of math were in the books. She really enjoyed doing the problems and even learning a few extra things. I think they are wonderful, not only for learning but for keeping up on what they have already learned.

We received the Hot Dots Let's Master 3rd Grade Math set for review purposes. My daughter is not in 3rd grade yet, but we have had great experiences with the Hot Dots sets for the younger grades so we decided we needed to have them all on hand for future grades. They are fun and educational, and all of them are right on target with the skills they should be learning in those grade levels. I love both the math and reading sets from Hot Dots.
