Comments about Eggspert®:
I bought this two months ago to use in a homeschool group. First time I tried it with the class was confusing, so I put it away to try to figure it out later. I pulled it out a month and a half later, and the white egg doesn't work. I feel like I wasted my money.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Oh no, sounds like your eggs are poached! Could you please email us at CS@educationalinsights.com or call 800-995-4436? We’ll gladly take it back or send out a replacement. Thank you.

I have been using the "egg" for 3+ years as a classroom managemnt routine in the wheel of fortune mode to choose table groups to go first/quiz ect. I tried the game show mode when I first purchased eggspert, and did not feel it was always accurate- but some of my stuents have slower reflexes so it did not work well in that way for me. Other students "jumped the gun" to be first before I could even ask a question! My students love to see which color will be selected and it is nice that I can choose a particular color if I want to. My eggspert has a place of honor right on top my teaching podium. It rests on a box that acts as a stand and holds the colored responders that I dont use. We decorated the stand with Easter grass! It is so cute! My students are so disapointed when the batteries run out and "the egg" goes out of commission. I should probably buy a power adapter because the eggspert seems to be of good quality that will keep on going for years to come. I have used it daily for 3 years. If it ever breaks, I will definatley buy another one! Eggspert is a fun tool for the classroom!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

About Me Educator
I just bought four EGGSPERTS to use in a workshop I'm presenting in a month. I don't know how these particular four EGGSPERTS work, but after using one in the classroom for 6 years with no problems, I wanted to share with other teachers this fun way to review concepts with students. I read several negative comments about the wireless machine so I bought the wired machines because I, personally, had absolutely NO problems with the one I had in my previous school for 6 years. I lent it out to other teachers, as well, and the kids couldn't break it no matter how excited they got nor no matter how hard they pounded on the 'eggs'!!
Eggspert is a hit!

My sister and I both have one of these for our classroom. She also bought the wireless version (she did have a problem with one "egg," but when she called EI they immediately sent a replacement). I teach sixth grade and have used it for reviews (by teams) in almost all subjects. Additionally, my students have used it as a "game show" tool when they create projects for their Literature Circle presentations.
White (Teacher Button) won't work

I love it. My Bible class students and my public education special ed kids love it. BUT after playing 3 games with it, the teacher "white" button doesn't work. It appears to be the port that doesn't work. If we plug the white button into another outlet--like the purple--it works fine. But plugging ANYTHING into the "teacher" port does not work. (Also tried freshest batteries. No change.) WISH SOOOOOOO much it worked--because it was fun. We can still use it for seeing who buzzes in the fastest. But you have to "dial" the power/volume switch on and off in between to reset. Since the teacher/controller button won't work, you cannot do the random (wheel of fortune) setting at all.A lot of money for something that only lasted 3 games. :(
Merchant response: Oh, no! It sounds like your teacher button may be defective. We wish you'd left us an email address so we could contact you and replace it! If you read this post, please email Amy@EducationalInsights.com so we can get you up and running again.

I have already had this item replaced once due to it being defective and I am having the same problems again- the pink egg will not function properly. It is fun but I'm not sure the quality is worth the price.
Merchant response: So strange! Please look for an email from us - we won't give up until we get your Eggspert up and running!

I use this with junior and senior high school students love it. They turn back into little kids when this comes out.
Merchant response: We're all kids at heart! Glad Eggspert helps you bring some fun into your classroom.

There is nothing in the documentation that discusses how to put the device in "quiz show" mode.
Merchant response: I'm sorry it was confusing! Quiz Show mode is actually the default mode. If you'd like to use Quiz Show mode, just being playing and let a student buzz in first. If you want to switch to Wheel of Fortune, press the Control Button on your remote. We'd be happy to walk you through it further - just email your contact info to firstname.lastname@example.org.
