Comments about Classroom Jeopardy!®:
I received Classroom Jeopardy through a local grant program and I am so grateful! My 4th grade students ask me daily when we can play again. They are engaged, excited, and learning...I couldn't ask for more! It's also really easy to use. I made my first game in less than half an hour. I'd definitely recommend this product.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not just for teachers! I love CJ!

About Me Aspiring Game Show Host, Collector, Game show fan, Trivia Nerd
I'm not a teacher, but I am a huge Jeopardy! fan - so when I saw that EI had released a new Classroom Jeopardy! - I had to order it.2 years in - I still love Classroom Jeopardy!I do all kinds of events for work, my social outings, and even home games with friends. The 2011 CJ! makes it easy to load these games ahead of me, and use them wherever I go. A simple Java software for editing the game files means no installations - just plug in the flash drive and begin editing. In addition to being a hit with my corporate training, CJ! has launched an annual Jeopardy! tournament in my office. The players love that I can implement video clips, pictures, and audio. It works well, and the players who have played year-after-year feel the lockout is fair, and a previous Jeopardy! contestant says that the timeout feels 'real to show'.Everything you would expect is there, and the host console makes it easy to see the correct answer. Also, EI has done several firmware updates to keep the product fresh - and improve the range on the buzzers. Be sure to contact them for the latest version. My only downside is that you can't preset the Daily Doubles in the game file. They are either assigned randomly, or you can 'force' them with the remote. If you're planning on specific clues to be the DD, you're kinda out-of-luck, because a 'random' DD can come up before you get the chance to 'force' one.The game supports up to 30 players, and I've done 30 with the older version of CJ!. It's a crazy experience. It's a huge upgrade from the older version, and I love it! Highly recommended.

Great Motivational Tool!

This was perfect for my classes; both resource room and in-class resource. It encouraged teamwork and cooperative learning, taught about patience, and reinforced the need to pay attention and take notes in class. This game even helped a student with Asperger's to become more social and has begun to teach him to share.
Merchant response: Thanks for the great review, Teach! Hearing about the social and emotional benefits of Classroom Jeopardy, in addition to being able to program your own customized content, makes us feel great!
I'd like to learn for 2000
from Amherst, NY
I've been a fan of the game show ever for a while, and i think kids have learned many new facts and figures from the game show. So I guess this is why Educational Insights introduced Classroom Jeopardy in 2002. This is a wonderful and fun tool in the class for things such as reviews for tests, final exams, and much more. Not only is this tool user-friendly, educational and perfect for school-use, but it's also great for parties, reunions, and lots of other stuff.I find Classroom Jeopardy, unlike those cruddy homemade, online, flash and powerpoint versions, have all the sights the sounds that all those other versions lack: The Buzzers, the think music, the daily double, sound effects and just most everything. Even Alex Trebek's and Art Fleming's hosting is pretty good, although a little ingenuent in some parts. I'm sorry [@] but i prefer educational insight's "Classroom Jeopardy".Even the mac version of the software Clue Studio isn't as buggy as the Mac OS X version of the original Classroom Jeopardy editor, and it's feature of making Audio, Video and Image clues, even for the Final Jeopardy round, an awesome addition. The game can be played with up to 30 players with 9 scoreboards. Kids who are watching people playing Classroom Jeopardy may even learn a few new facts or figures, as simillar to watching the show. I don't think this product misses any formats from the show. Everyone should buy it. It's a great product, and is definitly worth the [$]price.
Merchant response: What is... a great review! Thanks, Erik - glad you are putting Classroom Jeopardy! to such good use!

Almost perfection! However, I too have noticed that sometimes the Daily Doubles don't come up in a round. In one game, we went through two entire rounds (12 categories) and NO Daily Doubles came up. Also, the game doesn't always give control of the board to the last correct questioner ... if all three teams ring in with wrong questions, it seems to award control to whoever rang in last. Other than these two issues ... this game is PERFECTION.
Merchant response: Colonel Jack, ALMOST is not good enough for us! Please look for an email from our Customer Service team to trouble shoot these two issues. We're shooting for total perfection!
Works great except for one thing
from Providence, RI
I use it to teach neuropathology to neurology, neurosurgery, and pathology trainees in the hospital. Everyone loves it.For the new version, the only problem I'm having is with the Daily Doubles. The Daily Doubles only work sporadically. Sometimes they work OK. However, I just played a game where there was no Daily Double in the opening round. I've played a game in the past where there was only one in the second round. Is there a glitch in the game with respect to this?
Merchant response: Dear Brainiac,No - this is not normal! I have emailed our customer service team and copied you so that they may get in touch and resolve the problem. Stay tuned...

The new game may not work!
By PA German Teacher
About Me Educator
My school district has the original version of classroom jeopardy and I love it. It was getting older and worn out and a few of my colleagues and I were able to get this 2011 version of the game purchased by the district. Unfortunately it did not work. Many of the student controllers stopped or never did work and the teacher controller has issues. We found out, after speaking with customer service and taking the game home to test, that there is a problem between the wireless internet at the school and the wireless signal the game uses. We have sent the game back because the company has no fix for this wireless issue. Be aware that the game may not work for you if you have a medium to strong wireless signal in your classroom.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Oh NO PA German Teacher - we HAVE a fix for this problem! We wish you had left us an email address but if we can track you down we will send a simple firmware upgrade that you can easily install yourself to make Classroom Jeopardy work flawlessly in your classroom. If you read this, PLEASE email firstname.lastname@example.org so we can take care of you.
